Summary
Manitoba's
wildfire perimeters for the 2025 fire season.
Description
This is the
finalized fire perimeter dataset of Manitoba's known wildfires for the 2025
fire season. It compiles the best available fire perimeters and attribute data
derived from year-end wildfire reports, satellite images, hotspots, NRCan wildfire
burn-scar analysis and expertise analysis. Fire size is based on an area
calculation of the polygons after removing water bodies (calcarea
attribute). Unburned areas within burn scar perimeters have been filled.

this dataset. For fire perimeters mapped by GPS, only intersecting water bodies
have been removed from the shape, not fully enclosed water bodies. The water
bodies datasets MB_NHN_WATERBODY and JRC_GSW1_4_GlobalSurfaceWater were used
for this process.
